Meet Glissel Soliz. Once you get to know her, it won’t take you long to figure out that she happens to be your biggest fan. From day one, Glissel has been a positive force of motivation for her community and beyond. Whether it’s sharing motivational messages via social media, cheering on her friends and teammates in competition, or even sharing her tent at the Pensacola Beach Brawl with weary competitors, Glissel is known far-and-wide for her generosity and kindness. She is fiercely loyal to her CrossFit Paragon, and was part of the Paragon team at The CrossFit Games Southeast 2011 Regional competition where they placed 10th overall.
“I feel God has given me the gift of motivating and encouraging others, so I truly enjoy doing so,” Soliz recently told us. Glissel has some goals that the Garage Games certainly approves of. She wants to continue encouraging others in fitness and life, and she also wants to qualify and compete for The CrossFit Games Southeast 2013 Regional as an individual.
The Garage Games has been following Glissel’s development as an athlete from the very beginning. Her first competition, in fact, was a Garage Games event, the 2010 Survival of the Fittest, where after only three months of crossfitting, Soliz won the scaled female division. “There’s a special place in my heart for the Garage Games since they were the first competition I’ve ever been involved in. I love that they are making it so easy for anyone to compete all over the country, and also the fact that youth, masters and beginners can all be involved,” she said.
People like Glissel make the Garage Games world go round, and we are so honored to have her as one of our Garage Games Ambassadors.
