Thinking about signing up for the RX division?
The Rx athlete is a serious competitor and has been training hard for a year or more. An athlete in this division will be able to complete WODs if they can deadlift 315/225 pounds for low volume reps, go from ground to overhead with 155/105 pounds multiple times. The Rx athlete should be ready for anything such as muscle ups (both bar and ring), chest-to-bar pull ups, double-unders, pistols and handstand walks and handstand push ups. They should also be prepared to learn an unfamiliar task. Advanced/unfamiliar skills are more likely after the cut. Athletes who sign up for this division should not expect to scale WODs.
Thinking about signing up for the Scaled division?
The scaled athlete is fit but may have been training hard for less than a year. If this is your first individual competition, this is a good place for you. An athlete in this division will be able to complete WODs as prescribed if they can deadlift 185/115 pounds for reps, go ground to overhead with 95/65 pounds multiple times and be competent in CrossFit’s nine foundational movements and other basic skills such as push ups, pull ups, and sit ups. Athletes in this division could, upon request, scale WODs further, and are encouraged to do so if they need to. However, they would be scored below all athletes who did not do so for that WODAthletes competing in the RX division
