Garage Games ONE continues its new branding for 2016. With GG1 announced for August 19th - 21st at Lake Lanier Islands, and now, GG1.2 - an XY event for partnered teams, happening at the AMAZING Lake Point Sports Complex in Emerson GA on June 11th.

Three WOD’s for Kissing or Handshake Couples

If you are just getting together to WIN then select Handshake… but if you are truly ready to “throw down”, then kissing it is.  The XY event is Saturday, and there is some work going on to add a Sunday individual option, info soon.

The TOP couples in all divisions will also earn a registration into the WINTER XY Event held annually at the Garage.

WOD # 1 – Morning WOD (Indoors)
“Assault of the SLAM BALL”
This is a partners work together WOD
10 Minute AMRAP
21 synchronized Plate Facing Burpees – shoulder the slam ball after every 3 reps (RX – 100#/70#, Masters/Scaled – 70#/50#)
Partner Carry 50’  (25’ with turnaround)
21 Synchronized Sit-ups (on gym floor with abmat) – shoulder the slam ball after every 7 reps

21 Alternating Box Jump Overs (21 per athlete) (RX/Masters – 24″ box height, Scaled 20″ – stepping up allowed) – shoulder the slam ball every 3 reps

The turnaround is a rep in the partner carry.  

WOD # 2 – Morning on the Asphalt
“Squat Cleanly”
Two Barbells per team, and a lot of weight.  You do not have to use two separate barbells.  Each minute provides the team with the ability to make as many attempts as they can fit in 1 minute, at achieving a heavy squat clean.  You will record your best lift for each athlete, in each of five minutes.

Score is the combined total of the heaviest lift, of both athletes, for each minute.  (10 successful lifts added up)
If you have any minute with NO successful lifts, that minute will be scored as a ZERO.

WOD # 3 – Afternoon on the TURF
“Slam The Rig”
12 Minute AMRAP
The team accomplishes a combined and can share work however they like, one athlete at a time:
6 Toes to Bar (knee raises to parallel for Scaled), and 6 chest to bar pull-ups (regular pull-ups for masters, and scaled can choose between regular pull-ups, or 2-1 jumping pull-ups with head through the window at the bottom)
Carry Slam Ball 20 Yards (RX – 100/70#; Masters/Scaled – 70/50#)
Shoulder slam balls – each 6 reps
Carry 20 Yards
12 Toes to Bar, 12 Chest to Bar Pull-ups
Carry 40 Yards
12 Reps Ground to Shoulder per ball
Carry 40 Yards
18 Toes to Bar, 18 Chest to Bar Pull-ups
Carry 60 Yards
18 Reps Ground to Shoulder per ball
Carry 60 Yards
24 Reps Toes to Bar, 24 Chest to Bar Pull-ups
Carry 80 Yards
24 Reps Grount to Shoulder per ball
Carry 80 Yards
Start Over at 6 Reps of each and continue until time expires

The carry is good for a rep for every 20 yards covered

Volunteers : L1 and GG Certified Judges will receive $50 cash, and a $25 credit towards GG1 or XY Later in the year.

All the while the WORLD SPORTS EXPO is going on…
your Admission (Free with registration) lets you watch Jiu-Jitsu, Strongman, Power lifting, Boxing, Arm Wrestling, Body Building, Car and Bike show, 3 on 3 Basketball and a Firemen vs Policeman comp.  

It is going to be a great weekend, and this is a great event to hang out and see all sorts of stuff going on!
