The Inaugural Cherry Bomb competition is hosted by Gorilla CrossFit in Macon, GA during the annual Cherry Blossom Festival when more than 300,000 Yoshino Cherry trees will be in bloom. Macon, GA is the Cherry Blossom capital of the world and home to many renowned musical artists such as the Allman Brothers, Little Richard, and Otis Redding. So take the time to come sweat it out as an individual competitor or as a partner pair. There will be plenty of recovery activities to enjoy while the festival is going on. We welcome you to our beautiful town and offer a great place for friendly competition.

Individual Competition will be on Saturday March 21st, and Team Competition on Sunday, March 22nd.

Cherry Bomb Individual WODs 

WOD 1

Strength Complex – Complete one iteration of the following without putting down the bar. 10 min time cap for max weight.

Full Snatch, Full Hang Snatch, Overhead Squat.

WOD 2

15 min AMRAP

9 Deadlifts (Rx 155/105)  (Sc 115/75) 

12 Push Press (Rx 155/105)  (Sc 115/75)

15 Box jumps (24/20″) (Scaled: same height, can step up)

WOD 3

Tattnall Square Run

WOD 4

21-15-9

KB Swings (Rx 53/35) (Sc44/26)  

Double Unders (Scaled Singles) 

Burpees

Bearcrawl to plate, and 30 in place OH Lunges between every round (RX 45/25) (Scaled 35/15).

TEAM WOD 1

Snatch and Clean Complex, each team must decide who completes which complex. 10 min time cap for max weight.

Snatch – Full Snatch, Full Hang Snatch, Overhead Squat

Clean – Full Clean, Full Hang Clean, Front Squat

TEAM WOD 2

For Time: 

50 Foot Wheelbarrow Walk

100 Air squats (one person working at a time, partner must rest in bottom of squat) 

50 Foot Wheelbarrow Walk 

80 Push Press (Rx 115/75)(Sc 95/65) Partners must rest with bar in the rack position 

50 Foot Partner Carry 

60 Push ups, partner holds plank 

50 Foot Partner Carry 

20 Burpees

TEAM WOD 3

For Time:21-15-9 reps x 2 for time of: 

Deadlift (Rx 275/185lbs)(Sc 205/135) 

Box jump (Rx 24”/20”)(Sc 24/20 and can step up)
