Albany X’s and Y’s keeps “The Open Spirit” going!
Feb 2012 19

The CrossFit Open is an opportunity not just to compete, but for CF boxes to have parties, to organize groups of people competing at the same time, together, against one another, and to really promote fun in competition!  The X’s and Y’s is made up of one guy, and one girl… teams that are co-ed and sometimes in relationship, sometimes not, but fun all the way!

In the past The Garage Games has seen competitors perform partner carries, partner supported push-ups, wheel barrow walks, wall balls over a target to one another, high volume of partner assisted MU’s (they end up being thrusters with your partner as the weight), and all sorts of other fun partner challenges.

But, as I continue the rant, I need to come right back to the fact that these comps are some of the most enjoyable out there.  You still have incredible effort being put forth by most, but it brings all levels of competition together, and in most cases, people whom you would never expect to see competing are right there in the mix!

The event is more than a month away still, but teams are signing up fast, as we have come to expect out of this Northeast group… athletes are ready to go!
